Terms of service

These terms cover your use of the Layer API and website. By creating an account or an API key you agree to them.

The service

Layer matches equivalent markets across prediction-market venues and serves that information through an API. The service is in early access. It may change, be interrupted or stop without notice, and it is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind.

Not advice

Market matches, prices and other data may be incomplete, delayed or wrong. They are not financial, legal or trading advice. You are responsible for checking a match and each venue's rules before acting on it, and for any trades you make.

Venue data

Some data comes from third-party venues such as Kalshi and Polymarket and remains subject to their terms. By using the API you agree to follow the terms of service and API rules of those venues and the laws that apply to you, including any rules on who may trade on each venue. We may stop serving a venue's data at any time.

Not a broker or exchange

Layer is a technical service provider. It is not a broker, exchange or financial intermediary: it doesn't hold your funds, place trades for you or execute orders. Trades happen on each venue, under that venue's rules.

How you may use Layer data

• Use Layer data internally, or show it inside your own application to your own users.
• When you show a market to others, credit the venue it comes from and link to it (each market includes a url).
• Don't redistribute, resell or republish Layer data as a standalone data feed, or use it to build a competing market-data aggregator or historical database.

Your account and keys

• Keep your API keys secret. You are responsible for requests made with them.
• Keys are rate-limited. Don't try to get around limits, overload the service, or resell raw access.
• We may suspend or revoke keys or accounts that break these terms or put the service at risk.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Layer is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for trading losses, arising from use of the service.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we'll ask you to accept the new version.
